Onsite: In the East Branch of the North Fork of the Feather River or a short hike upstream to Indian Creek or Spanish Creek.
Nearby: Numerous lakes and creeks are within 30 minutes drive: Lake Almanor, Bucks Lake, Antelope Lake, Round Valley Reservoir, Chips Creek, etc. Gold Lakes Basin is within an hour drive.

Swimming: The property has no neighboring residences, which allows for Private swimming and sunbathing on the property. We have one of the best swimming holes on the Feather River, so bring your favorite floatation device and float your cares away.
Warning: There is no lifeguard on duty, swim at your own risk. Always wear floatation devices. Please wear water shoes in and around the river.
Horseshoe Pit: Decide who is going to do dishes with a friendly game of horseshoes along the river. The pit is lit for night time play as well.
Wood-Fired Gourmet Pizza Night: When the owners are onsite you can partake in an entertaining and unique experience. I can fire up the outdoor wood-fired oven and create some authentic Neopolitan Style Pizzas. The pizzas cook in 90 seconds right before your eyes and are simply delicious! Cooking and eating fresh gourmet pizza on the river always proves to be a unique and memorable experience.
Advanced notice is required and additional fees will be added. Owner must be onsite to use wood-fired oven.
Mountain Biking/Cycling: Some trails are accessible from the property. Quincy and the surrounding area are a perfect location for bicyclist of all levels. For beginners or family cruising, Chandler road (10 minute drive from the cabin) offers a flat loop around the North side of Quincy - with several swimming holes on Spanish Creek to cool off in during your day. For the more experienced rider, the Quincy LaPorte is a 60 mile out and back - with a major summit climb. Greenville and Taylorsville also offer some of the finest cycling in the Sierras, and are within a 15-minute drive of the cottage. These rides are absolutely beautiful and free of heavy traffic.

Hiking/Horseback Riding: Some trails are accesible on site. Numerous trails are within a short driving distance to include the Pacific Crest Trail (20 minutes drive) and the breathtaking views from the Sierra Buttes Lookout (1 hour drive).

Rafting & Kayaking: For White water enthusiasts, the North Fork of the Feather River has scheduled Summer releases which provide for good summer water levels for kayakers and rafters alike. During the spring runoff you can put in right from the cabin, otherwise it's a 20 minute drive to Beldon Town for summer kayaking.

Snowmobiling/Winter Activities: Some of the best snowmobiling in Northern California is within 30 minutes drive. Quincy-LaPorte Road; Bucks Lake Basin; Lake Almanor Basin. Gold Lakes Basin is a 1 hour drive. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are within driving distance as well. During the winter Tiamo Cabin typically gets around a foot of snow. The perfect amount of snow for building snowmen and making snow angels.

Hot Springs: Take a dip in the historic natural hot springs at Crystal Springs, just 3 miles away. You never know who you will meet at this rustic sulfer hot spring. It's a soothing 101 degrees and sits right on the edge of the river. It's especially enjoyable to sit in during the winter under a star lit night, occasionally getting out to take a cold plunge in the river.
Rock Climbing: Plumas County has numerous spots to rock climb and repel. Grizzley Dome is picured here and is in the heart of the beautiful Feather River Canyon and about a 30 minute drive from Tiamo Cabin.
